New to contact improvisation? “Contact Improvisation is an open-ended exploration of the kinaesthetic possibilities of bodies moving through contact. Sometimes wild and athletic, sometimes quiet and meditative, it is a form open to all bodies and enquiring minds.” - Ray Chung Over the course of the series, we will disorient and reorient together, finding new ways to balance and support ourselves and each other dive into the practice of contact improvisation. There will be an overarching focus on tuning in and building our own relational intelligence to strengthen how we interact with one another in dances, while weaving in group composition. After each class, we’ll flow into an open jam with live music accompaniment to continue researching our movement & relational curiosities that sparked from class. Feel free to come & go with care throughout the jam portion.
