Malik Nashad Sharpe: Creation Experience (Dirty Dan)

DIRTY DAN is a repertory class led by Malik Nashad Sharpe, pulling together references from his 10+ year career making choreographies underneath his prolific alias marikiscrycrycry. This class will focus on the construction of a short choreographic work that will give participants ample opportunity to hone their performance skills, choreographic pick-up, technical ability.

Based on contemporary, experimental, and commercial dance practices, Sharpe's practise infuses philosophical meanderings with wrought entertainment, intensity, and dark fantasy. His work takes inspiration from the various fields he works in, from concert, to the commercial dance sectors, and everything in between. This repertory course will touch on the techniques used across many different styles, fields, and practices in order to create a performance and choreographic density that is fresh, engaging, and unlike other live works.
