Join us for a curious evening of new and surprising performances by Trishawna Woods and Audrey Johnson. Dance expression has many forms and moves in infinite directions - these evening will reveal unique visions of how dance speaks to us. ALCHEMY is an ongoing split bill series presented by Andy Arts in which artists who share movement and dance as their medium explore differing dance languages and creative visions. Audrey Johnson is a dance artist working in choreography, performance, teaching, and herbalism, based in Oakland, CA|Ohlone land, and originally from Michigan|Anishinaabe land. Audrey's work experiments with improvisation in refusal of colonized time and space. Her work has been presented around the San Francisco Bay Area and Detroit, and she has collaborated and performed with artists such as Gerald Casel, Jennifer Harge, Detour Productions, Stephanie Hewett, Biba Bell, among others. She earned a BFA in Dance with Honors from Wayne State University, and was a co-founder of Collective Sweat Detroit. audreyjohnson.space Trishawna Woods is a Detroit-born dance artist rooted in club and street culture. Her bold, improvisational performances electrify audiences, blending rhythm, flow, and dynamic movement. She has shared her artistry locally and regionally—teaching, battling, judging, and performing with Shua Group, Baira Movement Philosophy, and Hardcore Detroit. A rising presence in the ballroom scene, Trishawna has earned Women’s Performance of the Year in both Detroit and Chicago for vogue femme. Passionate about experimentation, she explores multiple dance forms and methods, creating work that pushes boundaries while honoring its roots. Detroit native Sophiyah Elizabeth is a multi-sensory artist, composer, health care practitioner + cultural conduit with a mission to raise awareness for collective liberation and spiritual reverence. Through education, community organization, and music creation, her practice deepens connections with legacy building and overall wellness. With over 10 years of experience, Sophiyah utilizes music (theory), occupational therapy, and somatic practice to form a holistic wellness resource that focuses on Frequency & Vibration while also partnering with practitioners and organizations for collective community care.
