Dancers and movers come out for CONFLUX, a unique multidisciplinary dance experience set in the heart of the Detroit.
CONFLUX Intensive is a dance experience which invites dancers and movers to immerse themselves in multiple dance forms and cultures. Students can choose to focus primarily on contemporary, experimental, street or club forms, or mix it up. Conflux cultivates an atmosphere of experimentation, fun and focus. It is an affordable and professional opportunity to learn from highly experienced teachers based in Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, New York and London. Students also have the opportunity to perform new stage work, participate in a battle and join in cypher sessions.
CONFLUX will take place at Andy Arts / @andyartcenter in our Corner Studio and Hanger Theatre. The space includes a relaxing lounge space and a outdoor hang area.
The intensive was founded in 2025 by dance artist Joshua Bisset (shuagroup.org / @shuagroup). The 2026 edition artistic directors are Joshua and Detroit dance artist Trishawna Woods @trishawna_w.
FAQ
I'm coming from out of town. Where can I stay? There are a limited number of spaces in our raw warehouse. This is a camping style environment! Please contact andyartcenter@gmail.com.
There is a break between morning and evening classes, what are my options? We have a comfortable lounge and cafe kitchen at Andy Arts. Some students hang out and rest in the afternoon, or take a break to see the city.
I want to come but I don't have car, do you have advise? Bicycles will be available, car services are accessible. Public transport is available in front of Andy Arts.
What is the level of dance experience necessary? All classes are open level - please read the class desciptions on the scedule page. PM classes tend to be more challenging and instructors will offer options for all.
I'm coming from out of town. Where can I stay?
Andy Arts is offering an urban camping option in our warehouse space for $30/day. Inquire here for details. More stay options to come.
What should I bring to class?
Water bottle, knee pads and a change of clothes are recommended.

Is my payment refundable?
Your payment is fully refundable up to 2 week before the beginning of your class purchase. Half of the money will be refunded if you cancel between 3 days and 2 weeks. If less than 3 days notice is given your fee will not be refunded.
Who are the directors of the Conflux Intensive?
