Party Turn-Up This technique class explores the technical foundations of Caribbean, contemporary, and commercial dance within a structured company-class format, typical of professional dance companies and performance collectives. Beginning with a somatic engagement and psycho-geographical mapping, this workshop will progress through technical exercises and across-the-floor sequences, culminating in a choreographic combination.

Designed to reflect the demands of a multifaceted professional dance environment, Company Class will focus on developing physical facility, stylistic adaptability, and embodied practice. Participants will engage rigourously with a variety of movement vocabulaties, while strengthening technique and expanding versatility across forms.

Open to all with an interest in movement. Please bring trainers suitable for dance and movement work. You will sweat.

DIRTY DAN is a repertory class led by Malik Nashad Sharpe, pulling together references from his 10+ year career making choreographies underneath his prolific alias marikiscrycrycry. This class will focus on the construction of a short choreographic work that will give participants ample opportunity to hone their performance skills, choreographic pick-up, technical ability. Based on contemporary, experimental, and commercial dance practices, Sharpe's practise infuses philosophical meanderings with wrought entertainment, intensity, and dark fantasy. His work takes inspiration from the various fields he works in, from concert, to the commercial dance sectors, and everything in between--This repertory course will touch on the techniques used across many different styles, fields, and practices in order to create a performance and choreographic density that is fresh, engaging, and unlike other live works.
