GLOW - MOVEMENT INTENSIVE

In celebration of Movement Festival weekend, we're excited to offer GLOW, a unique intensive that is challenging and diverse, inspired by Detroit's vibrant club scene. Join instructors Soul, AJ, and Tre for a journey through hip-hop, vogue femme, and house dance. Organized and hosted by @trishawna_w About the Instructors: Soul: From being a force within the underground street dance scene for over 10+ years to making history in a huge way from competing on season 10s So You Think You Can Dance, Jade “Soul” Zuberi, a Detroit native & world champion continues to trail blaze & leave a huge impact in whatever space he enters. Known for his extensive knowledge within music & dance along with his methodical approaches on the floor ranging from House, Popping, Hip Hop Freestyle & beyond. Soul has become quite revered for specializing in his thought provoking, deep, inclusive & vulnerable methods of teaching, needless to say Souls reputation lives up to his name in every facet of the word. Tre: Thomas Canty, also known by his stage name Tre Daniels, is a dynamic dancer, choreographer, and event producer from Chicago, Illinois. With over a decade of experience in hip-hop, house dance, and event production, Thomas has become a prominent figure in both the Chicago dance community and the broader arts scene. Thomas’s impressive portfolio includes working with high-profile artists like Chance the Rapper, for whom he performed during the Coloring Book album release, and Ric Wilson, where he was featured in music videos like Move Like This and Pay It No Mind featuring Chromeo. Additionally,Thomas has choreographed for Hiplet, fusing elements of ballet, hip-hop, house, and Ndombolo, and recently performed and choreographed for DJ Lady D at TedXChicago at the Harris Theater. AJ: Aj, Also known in the ballroom community as Baby 007 is a season voguer who has traveled and competed in various Ballroom events. For 10+ years Aj learned and taught as he perfect his craft educating and uplifting youth of all dance backgrounds. Starting at a community center where he found his love for Lgbtq+ advocacy, Aj learned a way to advocate through dance called Vogue working with many organizations creating different projects and programs to empower young people and showing them how to express themselves and find their own style of dance within vogue.
